- Port Kembla to be privatised to fund major road projects

- THE Port Kembla shipping facilities near Wollongong will be
privatised with the proceeds used to fund major road projects across
NSW.

- The announcement by NSW Treasurer Mike Baird follows a provision
in last year's budget that the Port Botany shipping terminal would
be leased for 99 years.

The NSW government will conduct a scoping study to decide how Port
Kembla should be leased, and if the Illawarra terminal and Port
Botany should be sold off together
