    Mexico exported 30.9 million barrels in June, or 1.03 million b/d, the National Hydrocarbons Commission, or CNH, said in a report. The country exported 664,000 b/d to the US, and the rest was shipped in similar proportions to Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, the report said.
  • REFINERY NEWS: India starts up biofuel unit at Panipat
    The indigenous technology plant will use about 200,000 mt of rice straw annually to generate some 30 million liters of ethanol, refinery officials said.
  • JAPAN DATA: July 31-Aug 6 oil product exports rise 38% on week to 3.88 mil barrels
    Low sulfur fuel oil exports jumped 6.4% week on week to 256,085 barrels in the week to Aug. 6, while high sulfur fuel oil exports surged 118.4% on the week to 841,464 barrels.

Oil product stocks are up by about 50% since the start of 2022.
  • FEATURE: EU ETS' initial decarbonization effects for shipping in doubt
    Once the new regulation comes into force, industry estimates suggest over 2,000 vessel operators would need to acquire emissions allowances -- also known as EUAs -- to stay compliant when trading at EU ports.

    Ships loading in Ukraine would typically consider bunkering in Russia, Ukraine, or elsewhere in Turkey and the Mediterranean. However, following a Russian missile attack on the Odessa harbor just day after the agreement was signed, vessels have avoided proximity to Russian and Ukrainian ports.
  • OIL FUTURES: Crude prices fall on stocks build, rising Russian flows
    US commercial crude stocks climbed by a surprisingly high 5.5 million barrels in the week ended Aug. 5 to about 432 million barrels, Energy Information Administration data showed Aug. 10. The build left stocks 5% below the five-year average, down from 6.7% below the week prior.
