- New deal SNCF - SBB CFF FFS for high-speed rail services between France and Switzerland
- Strengthening of the joint venture Lyria SAS
Today in Paris the French railway group SNCF and the Swiss SBB CFF FFS signed a new trade agreement lasting 12 years with the aim to strengthen and develop their partnership in high-speed rail services between France and Switzerland, which are operated by mark the TGV Lyria.
- TGV Lyria last year achieved a turnover of 260 million euro (+17% on 2009) and has carried more than four million passengers, of which 2.3 million worldwide.
- Under the new agreement, SNCF and SBB CFF FFS wish to give greater autonomy and responsibility to their joint venture Lyria SAS, which is owned by 74% by the French group and 26% by the Swiss. The latter's task is to optimize business and operational management of TGV Lyria and monitor the quality of service.In addition, the agreement provides 19 to devote to the activity interoperable trains in Europe, operating on the network since December 2012, and transfer the property to their joint venture.
