- Start the Venice of the ARTEMIS project

Today, at the Hilton Garden Inn of Venice - Mestre, the meeting was held to initiate the project ARTEMIS - Advanced Rational Evaluator and Multi-modal Transport Information System, which is funded by the European Commission under the Marco Polo.
- The project aims to build a computer application can suggest to entrepreneurs and all those who wish to transfer of goods in Europe as the mode of transport (rail, ship, rubber, inland waterways or combinations thereof) as well as more effective and efficient the cheapest among the different solutions available on the market. The initiative, which sees the participation of partners from Spain, France, Slovenia and Italy, aims to build a platform that can support decision makers in transport and logistics in order to encourage a modal split more efficient and less costly.
- The ARTEMIS system will weigh for the same freight costs, timing and environmental impact generated by each alternative modal solution can allow you to choose the most interesting time to time depending on the type of commodity and market requirements.
- The project has a duration of 24 months and a total value of over € 2.3 million, of which 50% will be funded by Marco Polo.
- The project coordinator is Nethun, a company of the Port Authority of Venice, and other partners are: IIC - International Institute of Communications, Ilog - Logistics Initiatives, Optimodalité en Cercle pour l'Europe, SOFT, Thetis, Autoritat Portuaria de Tarragona Teirlog Ingenieria, Gefco Espana, Omega Consult, Cadmus Conoscimiento.
- Today's meeting was attended, as well as representatives of the project partners coordinated by Riccoboni Thomas, president of Nethun, including a number of important stakeholders involved in order to verify that the specifications of the information system ARTEMIS are compatible with the needs and wishes market.
