- The project Adriatic Port Community was launched in Venice
- He aims to develop a prototype of a "single window" for the exchange of information between the ports of the Adriatic and Ionian
Last Friday in Venice began on the project Adriatic Port Community (APC) in the presence of the President of the Port Authority of Venice, Paolo Costa, the local councilor for the Budget and the Veneto Region, Roberto Ciambetti, and the person responsible ' Managing Authority of the IPA Adriatic, Giovanna Andreola.
- The project was developed and approved under the IPA Adriatic Cross Border Cooperation Programme with the aim of exchanging information between the ports of the Adriatic and Ionian coasts, with particular reference to the ro-ro ferries and short sea shipping lines (MoS) existing and future generations.The Port Authority of Venice is the leader of the project which aims to develop a prototype of a "single window" shared between the ports concerned in particular with the Port Authority of Igoumenitsa (Greece), the Port Authority of Ploce ( Croatia), the University Institute of Technology in Epirus (Greece) and Technical University of Athens (Greece).
- The project partners will be responsible for analyzing all internal processes and procedures for identifying ports in particular those relating to flows of goods, customs procedures and ground transportation in order to identify optimal solutions to be put in through the use of innovative technologies ( ICT "Information Communication Technology").
- Once the technical requirements of the system will proceed to its implementation and application on an experimental basis. Specifically, the application will be tested to the management of arrivals and departures of ships, customs procedures (custom import / export clearance) and the arrival and parking reservation systems for land based on input ports. It is expected that the system will be operational by 2013.
- The total budget available to partners is € 2,557,000, of which over one million euro for the Port Authority of Venice.
