- In Venice we celebrate the European Maritime Day and ends the show Open Port
- The event program has involved over 15 thousand people
 On the occasion of the European Maritime Day, celebrated today in Venice draws to the final phase of the program events that fall within the usual annual event "Open Doors" organized by the Port Authority of Venice and dedicated to discovering the city, its port and the sea. The main objective is to rediscover not only the people who live in close contact with the port, but to all the inhabitants of Venice, what are the origins and history of the port, the special bond that the city has with the sea.
- The program, its events, some of which will continue throughout the summer, has involved over 15 thousand people. 2011 edition of the Open Doors Some actions have been especially designed to raise public awareness on the synergies that may result from the merger of city life and activity of the port due to strong liaison with the sea.
- Among the initiatives this year have been scheduled more than 10 guided tours of the harbor for schools and universities with the involvement of more than 800 people including children and students of all ages. The visits include both the Maritime area of the commercial port in Marghera, where you can witness live operations of loading and unloading of goods.
- The final day of Open Doors will be held Sunday at the second day of the Water Festival in San Giuliano Upsport organized by a 'initiative which aims to develop and disseminate knowledge among students of its territory through the rediscovery of the size of amphibian Mestre and its link with Venice. Tomorrow and Sunday will be held in Punta San Giuliano, on the lagoon, dragonboat races, kayak, raft boat in slalom and a sailing regatta.
