- In the first three months of 2011, the rail freight transport in Germany increased by 10.6%
- It was moved a volume of 83.3 million tonnes of cargo
 In the first quarter of this year on the German rail network have been transported 92.2 million tonnes of cargo, with an increase of 10.6% compared to 83.3 million tonnes in the first three months of 2010.
- Domestic traffic amounted to 63.0 million tonnes (+13.2%). Exports and imports by rail stood at 11.0 million tonnes respectively (+4.3%) and 14.2 million tonnes (+7.7%). Transit traffic was 4.0 million tonnes (+0.8%).
