- The German DB Regio has ordered 56 diesel regional trains to the French Alstom
- The contract has a value of 325 million euros
The railway company DB Regio AG of Deutsche Bahn (DB) has ordered the French Alstom to supply 56 regional trains diesel Coradia Lint. The contract has a total value of 325 million euros. The new trains will enter service in December 2013 and will be used primarily on non-electrified lines in the region of Cologne and the Eifel.
- The new trains Coradia Lint intended to DB Regio will be designed and manufactured in the German plant in Salzgitter, will have 180 passenger seats (Lint 54) or 300 seats (Lint 81) and can travel at speeds up to 140 kilometers per hour.
