- Last month the freight traffic in the port of Genoa has decreased by 6.3%
- The decline was mainly driven by lower volume of mineral oil. Pronounced drop in passengers
 The rate of growth of goods traffic in the port of Genoa was gradually reduced in the first half of this year to finally turning negative. Last month, the port of Genoa has handled a total of 4.21 million tons of cargo, a decrease of 6.3% compared to 4.50 million tonnes in June 2010 (the month in which the traffic had increased by 13 0% compared to June 2009).
- The decrease in traffic was mainly driven by lower volume of mineral oil, which last month totaled 1.32 million tons, down by 16.4% compared to 1.58 million tonnes in June 2010.
- In the field of cargo were handled 2.36 million tons (+3.1%), of which 1.58 million tons of containerized cargo (+7.2%) and 781mila tons of conventional loads (-4 , 4%). The container traffic in terms of box 20 '(TEU) was 159,045 units (+4.8%).
- The dry bulk traffic was 154 thousand tons (+3.9%) in addition to other 237mila tons of steel products and other bulk cargo handled in the industrial sector (-16.7%). Other liquid bulk cargo amounted to 43 thousand tons (-42.8%), of which 10 thousand tons of vegetable oil and wine (-62.4%) and 32 thousand tons of chemical products (-31.2%).
- He emphasized the reduction of passenger traffic, which last month stood at 345mila units (-20.5%), of which 277mila ferry passengers (-21.6%) and 68mila cruise passengers (-15.4%) .
- In the first half of 2011 the port of Genoa has handled a total of 26.25 million tonnes of cargo, with an increase of 4.1% over the first six months of last year. In the field of general cargo traffic was 13.66 million tons (+5.6%), of which 9.34 million tons of containerized cargo (+7.1%) and 4.32 million tons of conventional goods (+2.6%). The handling of containers amounted to 916,774 TEUs (+6.6%).
- In the first half of this year mineral oils totaled 8.86 million tons (-0.8%) and other bulk liquids to 455mila tons (+2.5%).The volume of dry bulk decreased by 11, 3% to 675mila tons, to which you add 2,00 million tons in bulk and steel industry (+28.3%).
- In the first six months of 2011 were 1.07 million passengers (-11.4%), of which 726mila ferry terminal (-15.1%) and cruise terminal to 350 thousand (-2.7%).
