- In the first nine months of 2011 the container traffic in the port of Trieste has grown by 34.1%
- In September alone the increase was 73.9%
 In the first nine months of 2011 the container traffic in the port of Trieste was equal to 287,257 TEUs, with an increase of 34.1% compared to 214,195 TEUs handled in the corresponding period last year. The figure for the first part of 2011 also shows an increase of 12.8% compared to 254,552 TEUs handled in the volume of pre-crisis period of January-September 2008.
- In the month of September 2011 the port handled 36,782 TEUs has Italian, with a growth of 73.9% compared to 21,149 TEUs in September 2010.
