 Today Enel has delivered to the Harbor Authority of Venice the study of feasibility for the electrification from earth of the docks of the port of call. In particular, the initiative for the realization of the so-called system of "cold ironing" in the lagoon port, than joins in the within of the plan "Ports Greens" of Enel and of a specific agreement between the company electrical worker and the Venetian harbor agency, it regards the docks of the basin of Marine and is destined to feeding the ships from cruise in pause avoiding so that they are held ignited the edge generators.-
- The study previews the new system can simultaneously feed four great ships from cruise, unit - it has explained the authority harbor - ognuna of which it can absorb, second the current international technical norm, the maximum power pairs to 16 MW: the total ability to the planned infrastructure is in fact pairs to 64 MW and would represent the system of cold ironing larger of the world.

The photovoltaic system, with an installed ability that it will oscillate between 1,2 and 1,4 MW, will be able to produce annually approximately two million KWh, pairs to 80% of the energy need for the lighting system and the air conditioning of the Passenger terminal, and will afford to avoid the emission in atmosphere of approximately 900 tons of CO2/anno.
