- Uncertainty over the trend of nautical tourism in Italy
- Survey of Tourism Responses on a Sample of the Offer
- The research and consulting firm Tourism Responses
carried out a survey on a sample of supply structures
Italian nautical receptive that highlights how uncertainty reigns over
what will happen in the summer at the gates and heralds
negative forecast for the close of 2020.
- The survey, carried out through the administration of a
online questionnaire on a sample of 76 facilities spread over
Italian territory representative of the accommodation offer
nationally heterogeneous location and size, analyses
impacts of the health emergency on these facilities and provides a
overall view of the sector and the measures taken or
next realization for the restart of activities.
- In detail, 32.9% of the structures covered by the sample
expects growth in tourist demand for summer 2020
compared to the same period in 2019, with 23.7% expecting
growth of between 10%, 6.6% expects an increase of between 10% and 6%
20% and a 2.6% that estimates growth of more than 20%. 28.9% of
respondents do not expect any change, while 27.6% expect a
falling demand mainly due to persistent limitations
certain types of displacement, the decrease in the power of
purchase, as well as a still evident fear of people
make some choices.
- "The contribution of the summer to the total for 2020 -
noted the president of Tourism Responses, Francis of Caesar -
will be decisive and much will depend on how much the
foreign demand, at the time when he was in a position to do so,
will want to visit Italy through this form of tourism.
The perception that will prevail in relation to this way of
holiday will play a decisive role. If it prevails
the idea of a safer solution because it is isolated
from the rest of the tourist traffic, nautical tourism will be able to
benefit from a boost in the coming months higher than today
Imaginable. If, on the contrary, excluding family holidays
more will consider the boat a complex choice because of the
limited trope space to share, forecasts less
encouraging can only be confirmed.'
