- After the temporary increase recorded last May, in the month
following the traffic of containers moved from the port of Long
Beach is back on a negative trend having been
602 thousand teu, down -11.1% on June
The decrease was driven both by the decline in
full container traffic at disembarkation and boarding, which are
301 thousand teu (-9.3%) respectively and 117 thousand teu
(-12.2%), both by the reduction in empty container traffic and by
184 thousand teu (-13.1%).
- In the first half of 2020, the Californian port
a total of 3.43 million teu, a contraction of -6.9%
on the first half of last year. Containers full at the
fell by -8.5% to 1.66 million teu, while those
increased by 0.3% to 734 thousand teu.
There were 1.04 million teu (-8.8%) empty containers.
