- L'improbabile graduatoria del World Economic Forum sulla
dotazione infrastrutturale delle nazioni

Oggi vi invitiamo a partecipare ad un gioco. L'ideazione di
questo passatempo ci è suggerita dall'orgoglioso annuncio
odierno della Port of Rotterdam Authority che evidenzia come le
infrastrutture portuali dell'Olanda siano classificate al primo
posto in Europa nella graduatoria del “The Global
Competitiveness Report 2009-2010” del World Economic Forum. In
tale elenco il porto di Singapore figura al primo posto nel mondo
seguito da Hong Kong e dall'Olanda.

- Certamente la fierezza e l'autocompiacimento di Rotterdam sono
ben fondati e meritati: il primato del porto olandese è
frutto di un intenso lavoro di continuo ammodernamento e
potenziamento delle infrastrutture portuali e trasportistiche che
proseguirà anche in futuro grazie - ha ricordato l'autorità
portuale - ad investimenti che per il periodo 2007-2015 ammontano a
quasi 15 miliardi di euro.

- Il fatto che la leadership europea di Rotterdam sia
indiscutibile non scalfisce la nostra convinzione che queste
graduatorie mondiali sulla competitività, qualità ed
efficienza di infrastrutture e servizi delle nazioni, una volta
oltrepassata la decima posizione, presentino un guazzabuglio nel
quale è difficile giustificare perché una nazione
viene prima di un'altra.

- Con tutto il rispetto dovuto ad un'organizzazione di assoluto
rilievo quale il World Economic Forum, ci sembra che anche il suo
rapporto sulla competitività globale confermi la nostra
ipotesi.

- Premessa: noi riteniamo che l'Italia soffra di un ritardo
nell'ammodernamento delle proprie infrastrutture e che negli ultimi
anni il nostro paese sia stato ampiamente superato da altre nazioni
che prima avevano meno dotazioni infrastrutturali delle nostre e
quelle che avevano erano meno efficienti.

Il gioco è questo. Prima di consultare la sottostante
tabella, vi chiediamo di stilare una lista di cinque nazioni che
ritenete abbiano attualmente dotazioni infrastrutturali meno
avanzate rispetto a quelle dell'Italia. Quindi confrontate la vostra
lista con la graduatoria elaborata dal World Economic Forum.-
- Avrete perso (e noi vinto) se una delle nazioni incluse nella
vostra lista risulta posizionata in questa graduatoria prima
dell'Italia.

vincere. A nostro avviso non si tratta di sfortuna.

- Quando la qualità delle infrastrutture
portuali dell'Italia è classificata all'ottantatreesimo posto
e quando nelle posizioni precedenti figurano nazioni abitate da
popolazioni che non hanno mai visto il mare ci si deve arrendere
alla dura realtà: vincere è improbabile. Anzi
impossibile.
