I caricatori solo parzialmente soddisfatti dei grossi spedizionieri

Secondo i risultati di una recente indagine di mercato, i principali agenti logistici predicano bene ma razzolano male. Parlando in occasione della recente Freight UK 2005 Conference di Containerisation International a Liverpool, John Manners-Bell, direttore generale della Transport Intelligence, specializzata nella fornitura di ricerche di mercato, ha dichiarato: "I grandi spedizionieri senza dubbio devono fare ancora molto per riuscire a soddisfare le esigenze dei clienti".

Anche se la sua recente indagine ha rivelato che i volumi delle merci trasportate via mare dagli spedizionieri sono cresciute ragionevolmente lo scorso anno, dal 9,7% nel caso dei fornitori europei al quasi 13% degli operatori con sede in Asia, il livello dei servizi lascia ancora molto a desiderare.

Vari clienti sono stati interpellati in ordine a quale influenza abbia sulle decisioni di acquisto dei caricatori la scelta dello spedizioniere, facendogli poi assegnare un voto da uno a cinque in relazione a nove diversi criteri di servizio. I fattori con il punteggio più alto sono risultati la sollecita notifica dei problemi (4,59), seguita dall'affidabilità (4,58), dal tracking & tracing (4,27) e dal prezzo (4,13). Il RFID ha fatto segnare il punteggio più basso (2,46/5).

Peraltro, rispetto alla diversa domanda inerente a come i caricatori classificano le prestazioni dei loro spedizionieri rispetto agli stessi criteri, il punteggio è risultato più basso, spaziando da 3,17 a 2,34 (anche in questo caso con il RFID in coda). La sollecita notifica dei problemi è risultata al penultimo posto, con solo 2,72/5, mentre il tracking & tracing e l'affidabilità hanno fatto segnare migliori punteggi, essendosi classificati rispettivamente al secondo e terzo posto. Il raggio d'azione globale è risultato il primo, ma questo fattore si è invece classificato solo sesto in termini di influsso sulle decisioni di acquisto. I servizi a valore aggiunto sono in bassa classifica (terzultimi) rispetto ad entrambe le domande.

In relazione alla domanda su quali spedizionieri abbiano la migliore reputazione, i caricatori hanno classificato al primo posto la DHL Danzas Air & Ocean, seguita da Expeditors, Kühne + Nagel ed Exel. Agli interpellati è stato altresì richiesto di classificare le prospettive per il settore degli spedizionieri da molto positive a molto negative. La maggior parte (75) le hanno giudicate positive, 25 molto positive, mentre alcuni interpellati (meno di una decina) ha espresso un'opinione al riguardo del tutto negativa.
