The German multinational Siemens has signed, through Siemens Mobility, an agreement to acquire several activities of the Italian company MERMEC, a leading high-tech company in the railway signalling, diagnostics and technologies of measurement. The acquisition, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year concerns the main MERMEC's activities in the railway signalling sector, electrification, telecommunications, diagnostics, analysis and global data infrastructure, but excluding investments of MERMEC in Angelstar Srl, Mont Saint Michel Sas with its subsidiary Compagnie des Signaux Sas and MERMEC Deutschland. The acquisition will include the production plant of Ferrosud rolling stock in Matera.

With approximately 1,700 employees, these businesses offer services to customers in over 70 countries and in fiscal year 2025 generated revenues of approximately 430 million euros.
