
Today, the government's Economic Coordination Committee (ECC)
Pakistani has given the green light to the sale of 30% of the capital
of the shipping and logistics company Pakistan National Shipping
Corporation (PNSC), currently 87.56% owned by the same
executive of Islamabad through the Directorate-General for Ports and
Shipping, to the National Logistics Corporation (NLC). The latter is
the state-owned logistics company that is controlled
also by the government through the Ministry of Planning,
Development and Special Initiatives and which also operates in
Pakistani Army Service. The NLC would also be handed over
the management control of Pakistan National Shipping
Corporation.
In the 2024-25 financial year, which ended on 30 June 2025, the fleet
PNSC ship transported over nine million tons of
liquid bulk cargo, with an increase of +4.7% on the year
and more than 1.9 million tons of bulk
(+50.2%), to which are added containerized loads equal to
1.1 million TEUs (-5.8%).
