
SAAM Towage, the marine and port towing company
of the SAAM group, which is controlled by Chile's Quiñenco,
has ordered five new new
tugs that it will progressively include in its
fleet as part of a programme for its renewal. The new
naval vessels, designed by the Canadian studio Robert Allan, will have
a pulling capacity of between 70 and 80 tonnes, and
will be used mainly in the port area. SAAM Towage has
announced that it will use the five new tugs in
different areas of Central and South America, including Mexico,
Guatemala, Colombia and Chile.
So far, Sanmar has built 13 tugboats for the company
Chilean.
