In the first quarter of 2026, freight traffic in ports of Belgium amounted to a total of 65.33 million tons, with a decrease of -4.0% on the same period last year year. Today the Belgian Statistical Office announced that the only traffic at the landing amounted to 36.00 million tonnes (-2.0%) and the number of passengers on board at 29.33 million tonnes (-2.0%) tonnes (-6.4%). In the period January-March of this year, in the 5,034 ships arrived at national ports of call (-3.9%) and 4,948 (-3.5%) were killed.

In addition, during the period, goods transported by barge on the Belgian inland waterways amounted to 40.5 million tons (+0.7%), of which 3.6 million tons of cargo containerized (-2.3%).
