Daewoo Heavy to Build Fast VLCCs for Greek Company

Daewoo Heavy Industries said yesterday that it has signed a $140 million contract to build two 300,000-ton very large crude carriers for a Greek tanker firm.

The two VLCCs will be the fastest such vessels built by the company with a maximum cruising speed of 16.5 knots or 30 km per hour.
