Domestic shipowners say increase necessary for survival

Reeling from combined losses of 1.7 billion pesos (S$75.24 million), the Philippine domestic shipping industry is asking maritime authorities to allow them to increase freight and passenger rates by 21.75 per cent to give them a chance to survive.
