"La Commission doit situer les conséquences de la fusion dans un contexte européen" Au cours d'une conférence de presse organisée à la hâte, le président de Volvo Leif Johansson a déclaré que les autorités européennes compétentes en matière de concurrence se concentrent trop sur les marchés nationaux dans le dossier Volvo/Scania, alors que l'industrie du poid lourd à un caractère international prononcé, avec une clientèle active par delà les frontières. "Si les conditions d'approbation d'une fusion avec Scania ne sont pas adaptées, il sera inutile d'introduire une nouvelle demande et de courir le risque d'attendre cinq nouveaux mois sans certitude d'obtenir une réponse positive", a déclaré Johansson.
