    La fonction industrielle qui s’est développée au cours des dernières décennies au port d’Anvers a non seulement généré d’importants trafics, tant à l’entrée qu’à la sortie, mais a également donné lieu à des nouvelles activités, qui s’inscrivent aujourd’hui dans ce que l’on appelle la logistique semi-industrielle, activités que les industries ont de plus en plus tendance à sous-traiter, soit sur leur propre périmètre, soit à l’extérieur, à moins que ces deux possibilités soient concrétisées dans un même contexte opérationnel. Ce nouveau secteur d’activité a pris des proportions considérables dans le port scaldien et les investissements qui en découlent se manifestent d’une manière quasi continue. Un dernier exemple en date nous vient de la Werf & Vlasnatie (WVN), qui en l’espace de 6 ans a déjà investi un milliard de BEF dans des installations très spécialisées, auquel s’ajouteront l’année prochaine 250 mio. consacrés à de nouvelles installations.

Cette crainte fait probablement suite à la stratégie que l’armement danois a adoptée à Singapour qu’il touche désormais avec des feeders, ses grands PC escalant à son propre terminal à Tanjung Pelepas.
