Enron near collapse as Dynegy quits

ENRON, the energy trading group, was on the brink of collapse last night after Dynegy, its rival, aborted a proposed rescue. The move left Wall Street braced for what is likely to be America's biggest ever bankruptcy. Enron has annual revenues of $179 billion (£126 billion).
