  • Bearish US data fails to push market much lower
    Bunker prices, and in particular marine distillates, have soared this week. The latest US inventory data should see some of these recent gains reversed, however the crude market rebounded after heavy losses in the wake of the data to trade neutral to firm. Distillate futures have remained soft - which may signal a break in the recent surge in marine distillate prices.
  • DOE/API show huge US product builds, crude stocks low
    Both reports showed massive gains for distillates in particular and continued solid builds in gasoline stocks, counteracting the bullish effect of low crude stocks. DOE data now show that US crude stocks are below "minimum operational level".
