Sea saver

- Agreement with ANPAR to promote the use of materials
recycled in construction activities in ports
-
The Association of Italian Ports (Assoporti) welcomed with
I favor the final approval of the law "Provisions for
the recovery of waste at sea and in inland waters and for the
promotion of the circular economy". Commenting on the green light
on Wednesday of the Senate to the so-called Salvamare Law, the
president of the association, Rodolfo Giampieri, pointed out that
'Safeguarding the marine environment is a priority
also felt by the ports. We had made - he recalled - an appeal
together with the entire maritime and port cluster a few months ago, and
now we have the norm that will allow us to clean up our
seas from plastic. We believe there will be an impact
immediately and concretely visible and that this protection
environmental will have very positive effects on the health of the
sea'.-
- Meanwhile, still on the subject of environmental protection, today
Assoporti has signed with ANPAR (National Association of Producers
Recycled Aggregates) an agreement to promote the use of
recycled materials in construction activities that
develop within Italian ports. With the an agreement ANPAR
undertakes to support the Association of Italian Ports in the
dissemination of best practices in terms of circular economy,
making available to the Port System Authorities the
technical skills of its companies to facilitate the
understanding of the possibilities and benefits arising
the use of materials from recovery treatments and
recycling, as well as in identifying possible solutions
concrete, with specific reference to recycled aggregates
coming from the treatment of inert waste.
-
- In addition, the two associations agreed on the appropriateness
to organize opportunities for information and discussion on the territories
in order to disseminate the benefits and positive environmental aspects
linked to the use of co-materials and products instead of
virgin materials. Assoporti and ANPAR will also share information
and useful proposals to identify possible synergies, actions and
joint programmes for the achievement of objectives in terms of
of circular economy.
