- Capital Product Partners buys three container ships from 13,278
teu and a 174,000 cubic meter LNG ship
- Sold two container carriers of 8.266 teu
- Greece's Capital Product Partners has announced that it has bought
three container ships of 13,278 teu, including rental contracts
already stipulated for these ships, plus a ship for the
transport of liquefied natural gas of the capacity of
174,000 cubic meters for a total of 597.5 million dollars.
The latter is a unit currently under construction
at the South Korean Hyundai Heavy Industries that will come
delivered next January and will be baptized with the name
by Asterix I. The LNG ship will be chartered to Hartree
Partners Power & Gas Co. (UK) Ltd. for a period of five years
with additional optional periods until 2031. The three container ships,
which will have the names of Manzanillo Express, Itajai Express
and Buenaventura Express, are currently under construction
at the South Korean Hyundai Samho Industries Co. and will be taken
to be delivered in October 2022 and in January and May 2023. The
three container carriers will be rented to the German Hapag-Lloyd for
a period of ten years plus additional optional periods with
deadline in October 2038 and May 2039.
- In addition, Capital Product Partners has signed an agreement to
transfer to unaffiliated third parties two container ships of 8,266 teu.
This is the Archimidis, which was built in the
2006 by South Korean Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering
Co., and Agamemnon, built in 2007 by the same
South Korean shipyard. The two ships will be sold for
total 130.0 million dollars and will be delivered
to the buyer during the third quarter of this year.
