The WSC urges the EU Parliament to adopt a position on FuelEU Maritime ahead of the Trilogues on the Fit for 55 plan
The objectives of decarbonization of shipping - highlighted the association - cannot be achieved without the regulation being on the negotiating table

The association has specified that the scheduled companies that represents, companies that are committed to decarbonizing the own sector in the shortest possible time and are already by investing in alternative fuel technologies, they are very concerned about Parliament's delay in finalising its position on the FuelEU Maritime initiative, regulation - has highlighted the WSC - which is essential for the EU policy-makers can achieve their objectives on climate and why the decarbonization of shipping can continue.
Recalling that the regulation is the guide for the adoption and use of renewable and low-emission fuels carbon in the maritime transport sector, World Shipping Council stressed that the objectives of decarbonization of the shipping cannot be reached without FuelEU Maritime and on the negotiating table together with the ETS exchange system of EU emission allowances, with the Energy Directive renewable and with the AFIR regulation for the realization of the alternative fuels infrastructure.
