
This morning in Cagliari the Port System Authority of the
Mare di Sardegna and the management company of the port of Tanger
Ville presented a memorandum of understanding aimed at
strengthening institutional cooperation and the initiation of new synergies
in the luxury yachting sector that has been
signed by the president of the Port Authority, Domenico Bagalà, and by the
Chairman and CEO of Tanger City Port, Mohamed
Ouanaya.
The memorandum aims to promote the creation of a circuit
integrated international nautical network between Sardinia and Morocco,
enhancing the respective port infrastructures and strengthening
the attractiveness of mutual destinations on the markets
global. In particular, the agreement aims to facilitate the
flows of yachts and mega yachts between the two realities.
Within the framework of the cooperation provided for in the Agreement, the Parties
commit to developing joint initiatives aimed at
improvement of reception and assistance services dedicated to
large vessels, the simplification of
administrative and customs procedures and the enhancement of the
port area. At the same time, an activity will be started
coordinated international promotion, through the
participation in the main trade fairs in the sector; The
definition of shared marketing and branding strategies, including
through the construction of a common identity of the circuit
"Sardinia-Tangier". An experience that, in the short term,
it can also be extended to some Spanish realities with
similar vocations.
The collaboration will also extend to the themes of
environmental sustainability and innovation, with initiatives
on the digitalisation of port services, energy
and "smart marine" models. In particular,
The two companies will collaborate on a sharing of the best
practices for the use of biofuels that represent, in particular,
circular economy perspective of the production cycle, a new
frontier for sustainability and self-sufficiency
energy efficiency.
