
The International Maritime Organization presented the seven
regional coordinators who will be put in charge of as many
IMO Regional Presence Offices, offices established with the aim of
provide technical support to the Member States of the organisation
of the UN, which is responsible for the security of the
and the prevention of marine pollution and

the priorities of countries in the different regions in line with
the broader strategic objectives of the IMO. «The Offices
of Regional Presence - explained the Secretary General of the IMO,

our global priorities and the reality of our
Member States'.
The seven regions covered, the headquarters of the regional offices and the
respective regional coordinators are: Caribbean - Port of Spain,
Trinidad and Tobago (Vivian Parasram); East Asia - Manila,
Philippines (Johanna Alcallar); Eastern and Southern Africa -
Nairobi, Kenya (Dave Muli); Middle East and North Africa - Cairo,
Egypt (Refaat Armanios); Pacific - Suva, Fiji (Sitalingi Payne);
West and Central Africa (English) - Accra, Ghana (Dallas
Laryea); West and Central Africa (French-speaking) - Abidjan, Costa
of ivory (Eru Takem).
