The terminalista group DP World of Dubay has increased own presence in America North acquiring the management of the container Rodney Container Terminal terminal of the Canadian port of Saint John, in the Province of New Brunswick. The port of Saint John in existence has in fact a program of modernization of the structures and infrastructures of the Canadian value of 205 million dollars (USA 157 million dollars) that it previews the restructure of the container terminal and the deepening of the backdrops of the dock for the traffic of the container, the length of 350 meters, and of the channel of access, participations that will be put into effect in the arc of next the seven years.
With the new contract of concession the Middle Eastern terminalista group extends own presence to the coast oriental of the America North, region in which currently manages three container terminal, all on the western coast of Canada: DP World Vancouver in the port of Vancouver, the Prince Rupert Container Terminal in the port of Prince Rupert and DP World Nanaimo in the port of Nanaimo.
The port of Saint John is the main port for volume of traffic of the east coast of Canada. Last year the port of call has enlivened altogether 26,4 million tons of goods (+10% on 2014), of which 24,5 million tons of liquid bulk (+12%), 1,4 million tons of solid bulk (- 1%) and 610 thousand containerized tons of goods (+8%) totaled with a handling of containers pairs to 97.114 teu (+8%).
