    The March container throughput figures for the Port of Singapore proved to be a bit of a false dawn. Overall throughput slipped month-on-month and year-on-year in April. Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) figures show that April throughput fell to 2.09 million 20 ft equivalent units (TEUs), from 2.19 million in March and 2.53 million in April 2008.
