Last year in the 27 nations of the European Union the passengers who have travelled in airplane have been 827 million, with an increase of 0.7% regarding 2011. London/fleeting continuous Heathrow to being the airport more sold of the EU with 70 million passengers, in increase of 0.9% regarding 2011. Paris Charles de Gaulle (61 million passengers, +1.0%) and Frankfurt/Main (57 million, +1.8%) are respective the second and the third airport for traffic followed from Amsterdam/Schiphol (51 million, +2.6%) and Madrid/Barajas (45 million, -8,9%). Last year 20 of the first 30 airports have recorded increases of the number of enlivened passengers, with the most elevated increases to Berlin/Tegel and Nizza/Costa Azzurra (both +7.4%), Vienna/Schwechat (+5.2%) and Manchester (+4.5%); the greater decreases are recorded to Athens (- 10.2%), Madrid/Barajas (- 8.9%), Praga/Ruzyne (- 8.1%) and Gran Canaria (- 6.6%).

The airport of London/Heathrow has managed the majority of the extra-EU passengers (42 million), while Amsterdam/Schiphol has enlivened the majority of the intra-EU passengers (28 million) and Madrid/Barajas the greater quota national passengers (14 million).

Air passenger figures have been calculated excluding double counting of national and intra-EU passenger transport, i.e not counting the same passengers twice, ounces reported by the origin airport as departures and ounces by the partner airport as arrivals. Double aggregated Since the EU excludes counting on intra-EU traffic, Member States' figures gives not add up to the aggregated EU. For example, to person flying from Paris to London will be counted in France as to ‘departure passenger’ and in the United Kingdom as an ‘arrival passenger’ but only ounces at EU level.

Air transport at airports in the Member States with to total transport of blackberries than 150 000 passengers carried in 2012 is covered.
