In the third trimester of this year the revenues of the crocieristico group American Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings have reached the record number of 2,95 billion dollars, with a slight increment of +0.3% on the same period of 2025. The new historical peak was obtained thanks to the sales records carried out on board the ships that totaled a billion dollars (+12.7%), while the sale of the cruises, with 1,95 billion, has marked a decrease of the -5.1% on the third trimester last year when it had been recorded a record value. Due to a rise of +7.3% of the costs, the gross operating margin has accused a decrease of -6,9% having been of 942.9 million dollars and in bending of -16.7% the operating profit that has been attested to 624.3 million (-16.7%). Net profit rose to a record value of 491.5 million (+17.2%), thanks above all to the strong decrease of interest (170.5 million versus 328.8), which a year ago included 154,5 million extraordinary charges for debt refinancing, and a tax benefit. Net of non-recurring items, net adjusted profit fell to 514 million (- 13.8%), while exceeding 414 million provided for by the company.
In the period July-September of 2026 also the number of passengers boarded on the ships of the group has reached the record number of 983 thousand units (+22.4%). In the quarter, however, the days-passegger only grew by +5.5% and the capacity offered by +5.4%. The average duration of the cruises is therefore dropped from about 8.5 to about 7.3 days. Net yield, i.e. the adjusted gross margin per day of capacity, fell by -6,5% (-6.7% at constant exchanges), but better than the -8.9% expected. The group has given this improvement to last-minute demand and on-board expenditure.
About the prospects for 2027, the group announced that the booking level on the next 12 months has improved but remains under the optimal range. In the first half of 2027 prices will be higher than last year but reservations are lower, while in the second half there are higher prices and online reservations.
