The shipowning group Orient Overseas (International) Ltd. (OOIL), than work in the field of the marine transport of the container through the company Orient Overseas Container Linens (OOCL), in the logistic field and the real estate industry, has closed the first semester of this year with a profit clearly of 238,6 million dollars, in increase of +31.7% regarding 181,2 million dollars in the first half of 2014.

The revenues are diminished of the -6,0% coming down to 3,04 billion dollars. The contraction of the volume of transactions is determined mainly by the reduction of the -2,3% of the volumes transported from the fleet of portacontenitori of the OOCL, that they have been pairs to beyond 2,7 million container teu ( on 24 July 2015), from the decrease of the revenues generated from this activity because of the reduction of the hires, than has been attested to 2,7 billion dollars (- 6.4%), and from the bending of the -1,2% of the revenues in the segment of the logistics. More important the decrease of the operating costs that are come down of the -10,5% to 2,61 billion dollars graces above all to the reduction of the -38% of the cost of the fuel, with a average cost of the bunker of 352 dollars/ton recorded from OOCL in the first half of this year regarding 595 dollars/ton in the first six months of 2014. The operating profit has been pairs to 271,0 million dollars, in increase of +28.5% regarding 210,9 million dollars in the first half of 2014.
