DFDS has carried to term the acquisition of the company of Turkish navigation U.N. Ro-Ro

Shipowning group Danish DFDS has announced to have today completed the acquisition of the company of Turkish navigation U.N. Ro-Ro.(on 12 April 2018), operation that has obtained the approval of the competent authorities. Communicating the happened one takeover, the president and managing director of the Scandinavian group, Niels Smedegaard, have confirmed that in the net of ports served from the marine routes operated between Turkey and Italy from U.N. Ro-Ro. the Greek port of Patrasso will be included: "our objective - it has explained - is that of being an actor key in the field of the marine transport in the regions of the Africa North, the Black Sea and the Middle East".
Currently U.N. Ro-Ro, that it has a annual turnover of 240 million euros and 500 dependent, work its 12 ships ro-ro on five routes that connect Turkey with Trieste in Italy and Tolone in France and manages harbour terminals to Istanbul and Trieste. Moreover the company offers also intermodal solutions from and towards other European markets. "With the 12 ships of U.N. Ro-Ro and the 50 ships of DFDS, comprised the orders for new ships ro-ro of great dimensions - it has emphasized Smedegaard - our fleet have an only flexibility that places in a position to offering the competitive transport to us of always increasing volumes of goods in export in Mare Mediterraneo so as in the northern region of Europe".
