- OOCL sets a new all-time record for quarterly revenues
-
- In the first three months of this year containerized cargoes
transported by the fleet decreased by -9.2%
-
If in the first quarter of this year, for the third period
consecutive quarterly, the volumes of containerized cargoes
transported by the fleet of the shipping company Orient
Overseas Container Line (OOCL) of the Chinese shipowning group COSCO
Shipping have decreased, the revenues generated by this activity,
thanks to the exceptional increase in maritime freight, they have instead
reached a new record level surpassing the previous one
established in the last quarter of 2021 which in turn, as
happened consecutively since the fourth quarter of 2020, had
exceeded that marked in the previous quarter.-
- A total of revenues that in the first quarter of 2022 has
exceeded the threshold of five billion dollars for the first time
having amounted to 5.16 billion, with a substantial increase in
+71.0% on the first three months of last year. New revenue record
which was produced both by the new historical peak of revenues
produced by transpacific maritime services which amounted to
1.89 billion dollars (+83.0%), both from the new historical peak of the
revenues generated by Asia-Europe services amounted to €1.53 billion
of dollars (+77.6%) that from the new all-time high in revenues
produced by intra-Asian services and with Australasia that are
results pairs to 1,45 billion dollars (+49.3%). Revenues
generated by transatlantic services have recorded a remarkable
increase of +89.2% being results equal to 297.8 million
dollars, a figure that is 2.5 million less than that
totaled in the last quarter of last year.

- In the first three months of this year the container fleet
of the OOCL transported cargo volumes of 1.80 million
teu, with a decrease of -9.2% on the corresponding period of the
2021. On transpacific routes alone, 477,000 were transported
teu (-15.4%), on those Asia-Europe 406 thousand teu (+1.9%), volume that
represents the new record for this market in the first quarter
of the year, on transatlantic sea routes were
transported 102 thousand teu (- 21.8%) and on intra-Asian routes and with
Australasia 811 thousand teu (-8.4%).
