
In the first six months of this year, the port of La Spezia
6.24 million tons of goods handled, with an increase
of +2.0% over the first half of 2025 generated by growth
+6.4% in the volumes of general goods to 5.78 million
tons. The Port System Authority of the Ligurian Sea
Orientale has announced that in this product segment the
container traffic amounted to 634,021 TEUs (+3.5%),
of which 548,200 TEUs in import-export (-2.2%) and 85,821 TEUs in transhipment
(+65,5%). The full containers imported alone amounted to
173,596 TEUs (+8.5%), while full containers for export were
states equal to 238,110 TEUs (-4.1%). In the liquid bulk sector
traffic was 440 thousand tons (-34.7%) and in
that of dry bulk cargo of 19 thousand tons (+155.3%).
In the first half of 2026, cruise traffic at the
Spezia was 255 thousand passengers in transit (-8.5%).
In the first six months of this year, the other port administered
from the Ligurian Port Authority, that of Marina di Carrara, has moved
a total of 2.52 million tons of goods (+16.5%). The
miscellaneous goods were 2.21 million tons (+20.5%), of which
1.09 million tons of rolling stock (+20.1%), 786 thousand tons
of goods in containers (+25.3%) made with a handling of
containers equal to 57,199 TEUs (+18.9%), including 51 thousand to and from the
Sardinia (26.8%), and 336 thousand tons of other miscellaneous goods
(+11,7%). Dry bulk cargo totaled 315 thousand tons
(-5,2%). Cruise traffic was five thousand
passengers in transit (-33.7%).
