HONG KONG TO BE PROMOTED AS SHIPPING CENTRE

The government may give tax breaks to owners of Hong Kong-registered ships as part of a package to promote Hong Kong as an international shipping centre. The proposal follows a submission by the Hong Kong Shipowners Association about freight taxes imposed on them by some countries.
