    Wallenius Lines and Wilhelmsen lines have agreed to extend their existing space charter arrangements with one another, effective July 1.
    According to Wallenius, the company will be able to increase its service frequency, offering customers three sailings a month from Europe to Australia.
    Wilhelmsen said the agreement related primarily to hardware, and would result in space rationalisation.

    In another twist of the dispute between Patrick and the Maritime Union of Australia, the stevedore yesterday gave notice that it intended to terminate labour supply contracts with its insolvent employment companies.
    According to the notice, within 14 days the company's labor companies would no longer be responsible for supplying labor to Patrick. That would enable Patrick to get rid of the workers once and for all and replace them with alternative labor.
