Ils faisaient tous partie du Far East Trade Tariff Charges and Surcharges Agreement (FETTCSA). Il s'agit des membres de la FEFC suivants Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk Sealand, P&O Nedlloyd, CMA CGM, K-Line, MISC, MOL, NOL, NYK, OOCL et des indépendants Evergreen, Hanjin + DSR-Senator, Cho Yang et Yangming. Le montant total des amendes, près de 7 mio. d'EUR, est relativement raisonnable, suite au fait que l'infraction des règles européennes de concurrence commise est moins grave qu'un cartel tarifaire.
Les priorités "Transport" de la présidence française Selon le ministre chargé notamment des Transports, la présidence française de l'Union européenne agira en particulier pour accélérer les mesures concernant la sécurité maritime.
