Nissan Motor Co. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have agreed to jointly develop, procure and market forklifts domestically and overseas, the two firms said Monday.

Nissan and Mitsubishi Heavy will jointly develop engine-powered forklifts in the 1- to 3-ton range as well as procure parts for forklift production and repairs.

They will also market each other's products in a bid to improve their respective lineups.
