Hutchison Whampoa is denying a report that its wholly owned port-operating subsidiary has been ordered by Beijing to restrict its activities in China.

The Far Eastern Economic Review today published a story that said Beijing was worried Hutchison Ports Holdings (HPH) was growing too strong and as a result, aimed to curb its influence on ports.
