Le libre accès aux services portuaires est une chose, la pratique en est une autre. De plus, le rapporteur allemand met la dernière main à son document qu’il devrait transmettre au Parlement européen vers la fin de ce mois.

    Le groupe américain ProLogis a décidé de vendre les activités de transport et d’entreposage frigorifique de Frigoscandia en Allemagne à la société Nordfrost GmbH. Il va également vendre l’entrepôt frigorifique de Liverpool, à une société non précisée. Frigoscandia, racheté en 1997 par ProLogis (alors encore appelé SCI) à ASG est sa branche de services logistiques frigorifiques. Dans son communiqué, ProLogis ne mentionne pas quel avenir il réserve aux autres branches de Frigoscandia.
  • Le port de Gand a connu en 1999 une année record en termes d’investissements
    Le port de Gand a affiché en 1999 2,25 milliards d’EUR de valeur ajoutée directe, 26.232 emplois directs, 527 millions d’EUR d’investissements et a contribué à hauteur de 1,15 milliard d’EUR au trésor et à la sécurité sociale. C’est ce qu’annonce la Banque nationale de Belgique dans son rapport sur l’importance économique du port de Gand. La valeur ajoutée et l’apport au trésor ont été légèrement inférieurs à l’année record qu’a été 1998 (où ces deux paramètres s’étaient respectivement élevés à 2,41 mia. d’EUR et 1,19 mia. d’EUR). Mais les investissements ont grimpé sous l’impulsion des importantes dépenses du secteur privé à un niveau record, et l’emploi a légèrement augmenté.
