
In the second quarter of this year, the port terminals of the
German group HHLA handled container traffic equal to
to 1.50 million TEUs, with a decrease of -8.0% on the corresponding
period of 2025. The company's terminals in the port of Hamburg alone
handled 1.41 million TEUs (-8.0%), while traffic
in foreign terminals it was 85 thousand TEUs (-8.6%). In addition,
during the period HHLA handled intermodal traffic equal to
496 thousand TEUs (-1.0%).
In the period April-June 2026, the German company's revenues
amounted to €460.0 million (+2.5%), of which €449.8 million
generated by port activities (+2.4%). Operating costs
amounted to 397.9 million, with an increase of more than
accentuated by +5.7% produced by the significant increase in expenses
for personnel (€185.3 million, +6.2%) and the strong growth of
material costs (€157.0 million, +6.3%). EBITDA was
of €79.0 million (-12.2%) and EBIT of €20.8 million, with contributions from
port activities amounted to 71.8 million respectively
(-14.8%) and 16.5 million (-62.2%). The result after taxes is
negative state and equal to -2.3 million euros compared to a
profit of €18.9 million in the second quarter of 2025.
