In the second quarter of 2026, Tunisia's ports handled a total of 7.37 million tons of goods, with a sharp increase of +8.8% over the corresponding period of 2014 last year, of which 4.85 million tonnes at unloading (+8.4%) and 2.52 million tons at embarkation (+9.6%). In the sector alone of miscellaneous goods, total traffic recorded a strong growth of +23.5% to 2.54 million tonnes, of which 1.22 million tonnes of containerised goods (+8.0%) Built with a container handling of 157 thousand TEUs (+20.2%), 587 thousand tons of rolling stock (+9.7%) and 780 thousand tons of rolling stock tons of other miscellaneous goods (+98.9%). In the bulk segment hydrocarbons totaled 1.98 million tons (+1.9%) and other cargoes 135 thousand tons (-25.3%), while in that of dry bulk cereals amounted to 1.46 million of tons (+10.2%) and other dry bulk 1.25 million tons (-1.3%).

In the period April-June of this year, the traffic of ferry passengers in Tunisian ports of call is 141 thousand people (-0.3%), while cruise passengers were 77 thousand (+13.1%).

In the first six months of 2026, total freight traffic was 14.79 million tons, with a growth of +7.3% on the first half of 2025, of which 9.64 million tonnes of unloaded loads (+5.7%) and 5.15 million tons boarding (+10.4%).
