UIRR, the competitiveness of the arranged transport transalpine are to risk in spite of new railway infrastructures

The main projects under performance are the new gallery of base of the Lötschberg placed side by side from the tunnel of the Sempione, the new gallery of base of the Saint Gottardo with the tunnel of base of Ashes and with the adaptation of the shape to 4 meters of the access corridors and the reconstruction of the line of Brenner in Austria. Today, while, the UIRR has introduced the annual report 2014 on the section of the arranged transport European that evidences a decrease of -1,1% of the shipment number carried out from the operators of the field regarding the year precedence (2.617.886 in 2014 regarding 2.645.950 in 2013) and, instead, an increase of +12.2% of the activity if the reference data is that of the ton-kilometers (45,72 billion in 2014 regarding 40,74 billion tkm in 2013).

The UIRR has announced that the performances of the field in the 2014 include a next increase to +13% of the arranged traffic accompanied (the so-called travelling freeways) and a meaningful reduction of the national activity of transport arranged in some Countries let alone a strong development of the transboundary traffic that comprises also the arranged transport intercontinental.
