Chinese container manufacturer Singamas recorded a sharp contraction in its economic results

In the first half of 2022 Singamas sold containers for a total of 142 thousand teu, with a decrease of -5% on the same period of 2021. The average selling price of a 20' container for dry loads was equal to 3,330 dollars (+4.9%).
Singamas specified that performance attenuation in the first half of this year it is a consequence of the overproduction occurred in 2021 and the reduction of application during the second quarter of 2022. On the results - has specified the company - have also weighed the increase in the costs of the raw materials and the closure of the Singamas factories in Shanghai from April to May this year due to lockdowns for the containment of Covid-19. Singamas predicts that in the second half-year of this year will continue the contraction of the demand for containers for the transport of dry goods.
