    He added that TEL were committed to continuing the Sydney-Melbourne-South Island service in the long term.

    Wilhelmsen Lines has signed a letter of intent with Daewoo of South Korea for the construction of three ro-ro vessels, contracted for delivery in the year 2000.
    The ro-ros are of a new design developed by Wilhelmsen Lines in cooperation with Barber Marine Consultants, intended to facilitate the movement of a large volume of roll-on roll-off cargoes and cars.
