    Les jeux sont faits. Le conseil chargé de la concurrence ayant donné vendredi dernier son feu vert sans aucune restriction à la fusion des deux plus grandes entreprises de manutention portuaire anversoises, la Hessenatie et la Noord Natie, cette fusion devient donc effective. En fait il ne s’agit plus que d’une formalité, toutes les dispositions techniques, administratives et juridiques ayant été prises au cours des mois précédents. Reste maintenant la dernière étape d’un processus entamé il y plus d’un an, à savoir la prise d’un contrôle majoritaire par le groupe singapourien PSA Corp de la nouvelle entité Hesse Noord Natie s.a. Cela devrait être réalisé dans le courant du mois de novembre prochain.

    Le quotidien français “Les Echos” a indiqué dans une édition récente que le gouvernement français veut réduire drastiquement ses aides au transport combiné rail/route. Déduction faites de la TVA, les aides que la SNCF perçoit de l’Etat à ce titre, passeraient ainsi de 500 millions de FRF (76,22 mio. d’EUR) en 2001 à 200 mio. de FRF (30,5 mio. d’EUR) en 2002, ce qui correspond à une réduction de 60%. Même si ce qui ne serait plus donné d’une main au rail/route, pourrait l’être de l’autre, cette perspective apparaît comme un vrai coup dur pour la SNCF, dont les résultats en combiné sont loin de répondre aux attentes.
